Training Resources Home

In 2010 Maria Landrelli was asked to teach the MYOB component of the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College including GST/BAS Skill set, which is the minimum educational requirements for Bookkeepers wishing to register for the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) BAS Agent registration.   Maria has been a trainer at the college for a number of years teaching non accredited MYOB courses and had written a number of training resources for non accredited MYOB courses and co-written a number of publications for bookkeepers wanting to start their own business, which had been well received by both students and trainers and had her own bookkeeping and BAS Agent business.

Maria initially used existing training manuals that were commercially available, however she did not like the format of the available manuals and in some cases many of the manuals had errors and the students found they were difficult to follow and understand, and was having to constantly prepare additional notes to support her classes.

In 2011, after many complaints about the quality of the manuals she was using, Maria decided that it was time to sit down and write the resources for Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) using her knowledge and skills as an Accountant in practice running a bookkeeping business, her training as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to understand the assessment requirements and her skills in writing training material, with the student in mind.

The manuals are designed to be clear, step by step that the students can used not only in the classroom, but later as a reference guide.

Maria also teaches these units at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College and because of this is is getting constant feedback from students, which she then updates the manuals if she finds that an area is not clear or the constant changes in legislation.

Maria has had many requests to write the other accounting related manuals in the qualification and is considering writing those in the future.
